Recession and the Stimulus

Economic indicators show that the economy is slowly coming out of its recession. The Obama administration admits that very little of its economic stimulus money has been spent. This means that, as usual, our capitalist economy, as it has many times in the past, is repairing  itself in spite of the politicians who caused the problem. Since it appears the stimulus money is not really needed, will Congress not spend it, pay off the ones who lent us the money, and ease our national debt? Maybe when hell freezes over!

Health Care

What health care insurers do reject people who engage in risky behavior, who have dangerous jobs, who smoke, who drink, who are obese, etc., or they charge then more for coverage. Obama wants the government to run health care. If he gets his way, the government will decide who get health care, how much they get, what it will cost, and whether they will reject claims. For example, they have already said that if it costs too much to keep an old person alive, they will reject the claim. If they determine, you were doing something risky, they will reject the clam. Do you want Obama and Congress to decide what you do and how you do it? It may sound good to you now, but what happens when they come after a group in which you are a member.

Hate Crimes

In Jena, Louisiana, after Obamanites made the case a national cause, five black members of the Jena Six pleaded no contest to misdemeanor simple battery in the beating of white man simply because he was white and were sentenced to seven days unsupervised probation and fined $500. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to the outcome would have been had six whites attacked one black man.

Government Intrusion

When people comment about the Obama administration’s intrusion into the lives of all Americans, Obama supporters say that the Bush administration was also intrusive, quoting the case of Terry Schiavo. Granted that case was a fiasco, but it was a case of political grandstanding at its worst, by both parties, in a case that affected only affected a few Schiavo family members. Whereas, the Obama administration has spend trillions of dollars to bail out (control) companies, has taken over banks and corporations, and is attempting to force everyone into limited, government run health care. Obamanites considered it horrible that the Bush administration conducted warrantless wiretaps of a few terrorists, while they think it is great for Obama to rob the entire nation of its wealth and prosperity. People worry about government intrusion into a single person’s life while ignoring its intrusion into everyone’s lives.

Change?

Most of the $2.2 billion dollars of economic stimulus money for Army Corps of Engineers construction projects is being spent in the home districts of members of Congress who oversee the corps’ funding. The members involved say it is just a coincidence and was a surprise to them. Do you believe that millions are being spend in a congressman’s district and he or she knew nothing about it?

Obama Logic

In his Rose Garden news conference, Obama said

"If private insurers say that the marketplace provides best-quality health care, if they tell us that they're offering a good deal, then why is it that the government, which they say can't run anything, suddenly is going to drive them out of business? That's not logical."

This statement shows how much Obama knows about business. Businesses must make a profit to stay in business; the government does not. When the government mismanages and overspends, as it does in Medicare and Medicaid, it just raises taxes, prints more money, and continues its mismanagement. Therefore, it can undercut private insurers and drive them out of business, while screwing taxpayers and their descendants for centuries.

Obama Outraged

Obama said he is appalled and outraged over the events in Iran. Since he was also outraged over statements by conservative talk show hosts, I don’t; think Iran cares that he is outraged.
